Registered Behavioral Technician

About the role

The Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) position at Holyoke Public Schools is part of the MCMAHON team. This role supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through evidence-based interventions and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Implementing behavioral intervention plans based on data-driven decisions
• Providing direct support to students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other areas of the school
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assessing student behavior and progress regularly to adjust interventions as necessary
• Documenting observations, interventions, and progress reports in a timely manner
• Participating in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts RBT certification
• Experience with data collection and analysis
• Passion for supporting students with ASD
