About the role
The Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) position at Holyoke Public Schools is part of the MCMAHON team. This role supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through evidence-based interventions and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Implementing behavioral intervention plans based on data-driven decisions
- Providing direct support to students in various settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other areas of the school
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assessing student behavior and progress regularly to adjust interventions as necessary
- Documenting observations, interventions, and progress reports in a timely manner
- Participating in team meetings and professional development activities
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a school setting
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts RBT certification
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Passion for supporting students with ASD
