About the role
Marklund is a non-public state-certified school that partners with area school districts to provide a highly specialized education experience. The therapeutic, sensory-driven Multi-Needs Program serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities. The Life Skills Program provides individualized functional curriculum and supports for students who are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Document all goals/program which includes the daily participation records after completion of a task with a student
- Observe and manage behavior of students according to approved procedures
- Implement behavior management techniques to support students
- Work directly with the students one-on-one and in groups outlined in the IEP's
- Aid teachers with classwork and daily care of students with special needs
- Keep equipment in classroom in clean condition and provides safe physical environment for all students
- Provide training and coaching to paraprofessionals on behavior techniques and implementation
Requirements
- Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can be obtained after being hired within 30 days.
- Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have Registered Behavior Technician License.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and meet its functional and environmental requirements.

Schedule
Hours of this position are 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
Pay
The starting base rate is $23.25/hr.
