Responsibilities
- Deliver ABA (applied behavior analysis) intervention directly to children through the age of kindergarten
- Work under the guidance and supervision of a board certified and licensed behavior analyst
- Assist in becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Use a variety of methodologies to engage children
- Connect with children in a genuine way
- Work with children aged 2 years old and younger
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree
- Prior experience working one-on-one with young children on the spectrum
- Experience with behavior intervention programs
- Experience with taking data and providing positive behavior supports
- Experience with relationship-based techniques and applied behavior analytical strategies
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 45 pounds
- Climb on playground equipment
- Engage in physical play with children
- Maintain elevated heart rate during therapy sessions
- Run faster than a 5-year-old
- Pick up and transport children safely up to 100 yards
- Walk up and down stairs multiple times a day
- Push and pull children up to 45 pounds on wagons, wheelchairs, baskets, etc.
- Sit on the floor without back support for extended periods
- Fine motor dexterity
