Registered Behavior Technician
About the role
Provide direct, 1:1, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention supports to children and adolescents diagnosed with severe behavioral disorders. Provide first level of supervision to Associate Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians and may assist in training and provide oversight in the progress of sessions. This position will lead day-to-day functions of assigned cases and provide first level drafts of patient related documentation and communications, under the supervision of a BCBA or BCBA-D.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, 1:1, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention supports to children and adolescents diagnosed with severe behavioral disorders.
- Provide first level of supervision to Associate Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians and may assist in training and provide oversight in the progress of sessions.
- This position will lead day-to-day functions of assigned cases and provide first level drafts of patient related documentation and communications, under the supervision of a BCBA or BCBA-D.
- All behavioral therapy strategies and intervention components will occur through the implementation of a treatment plan that is prepared and directed by a BCBA or BCBA-D/Licensed Psychologist.
- This position will regularly encounter potentially moderate- to high-risk care situations that could result in bodily harm to the employee. These situations may include, but are not limited to, providing behavioral therapy in situations where the patients display property destruction, emotional outbursts, verbal insults, and physical aggression.
- This position will receive specialized behavior management training.
Requirements
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field required. A minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with severe behavioral disorders preferred. Must have a current license to practice as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a related certification from an approved organization.
Qualifications

Experience in providing first level of supervision to Associate Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians. Experience leading day-to-day functions of assigned cases and providing first level drafts of patient related documentation and communications.
Skills
Knowledge of behavioral therapy strategies and intervention components. Ability to implement a treatment plan prepared and directed by a BCBA or BCBA-D/Licensed Psychologist. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in potentially high-risk care situations.
