About the role
Main Street School (K-2) and Lincoln Street School (3-5) in Exeter, NH are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by the BCBA to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Provide direct 1:1 or small group support to students with autism, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges in a variety of settings (classroom, special education settings, etc.).
- Collect and record data on student progress according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) by observing students and gathering behavioral data.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other school personnel to support students’ academic and behavioral goals.
- Communicate regularly with the BCBA regarding student progress, challenges, and any modifications to behavior plans.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors and skill development.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary, following safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain RBT certification and enhance skills.
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in psychology, education, or a related field is a plus).
- Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.
