About the role
The Registered Behavior Technician is responsible for implementing the Treatment Plan goals and objectives written and maintained by the BCBA. These goals may include daily living skills, hygiene, community access, communication, and social skills. Some clients may have basic medical needs requiring assistance. RBTs work primarily in the client’s residence but may occasionally support clients in other settings.
Hours are arranged with the Supervising BCBA, client, and their family and may vary weekly based on client needs. The RBT keeps daily records and provides weekly summaries documenting services.
The RBT works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and collaborates with supervisors and client caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Assists with intakes and assessments
- Implements individualized treatment plans for each client supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Autism Specialist
- Uses evidence-based treatment methods to facilitate individual treatments
- Maintains detailed and accurate documentation of patient information and treatment plans
- Performs regular wellness checks
- Adheres to all facility and licensing standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, ABA, special education, or other related field (preferred)
- Completion of the free 40-hour Online Behavior Technician Training certificate from Autism Partnership Foundation or current RBT license
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certified (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
