Description Summary
Aid in the implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatment plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Assist with daily activities, monitor behavior, record and collect data on progress, and communicate with the supervisor on progress, concerns, or changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with assigned individual implementing behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals within the assigned environment
- Receive direct supervision and implement feedback as outlined by the supervising BCBA
- Collect ongoing treatment data on behavior and skill-specific goals as outlined by the supervising BCBA
- Prepare for direct therapy sessions and collect materials to ensure quality of care for the individual
- Advise, consult, and/or train the family and other agency personnel as assigned by the supervising BCBA
- Participate in in-service programs and present in-service programs as assigned
- Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures
- Participate in the development of the treatment plan with all other team members
- Attend all additional scheduled staff meetings and conferences as assigned by the Director of ABA
- Immediately report to the BCBA/Therapy Supervisor any patient incidents/variances or complaints
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one-year experience of working with children who have disabilities required
- Certification as Registered Behavior Technician preferred
- Excellent instructional, oral, and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal relations skills
- Good mathematical skills
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals regarding age, education, and functionality
- Ability to present information and train staff who have varying levels of knowledge/experience
- Ability to work independently and prioritize and plan work activities
- Ability to problem-solve independently or in a group setting
- Ability to foster quality in others
- Strives to constantly improve processes and services
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, talk or hear, and taste or smell
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Regularly use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Regularly stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
