About the role
As the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager, you will coach and develop in-store visual teams to achieve strategic company objectives and ensure visual merchandising consistency across the region.
Responsibilities
- Stay knowledgeable about all Visual Merchandising (VM) strategies and current trends to support company sales goals.
- Hire, supervise, and empower an efficient and effective team of in-store VM Managers and Visual Merchandisers.
- Collaborate with HR on compensation, hiring, and performance coaching for employees.
- Provide clarity on Visual Merchandising directives, including customer profile, compelling merchandising, and fashion-relevant styling.
- Implement and customize directives for each store based on current inventory.
- Partner with corporate teams to educate in-store VM Managers and teams on execution of VM guidelines, directives, installations, and signing.
- Uphold the integrity of the Nordstrom brand in all VM and regional strategies.
- Strategically plan for regional business needs and execute the business plan with a focus on visual excellence.
- Maintain clear, concise, and consistent communication across all levels.
- Inspire and motivate Visual Merchandising Managers and teams through innovation and leadership.
- Align with corporate partners, VM Managers, and support teams on store openings, remodels, interior installs, and large-scale regional events.
- Conduct scheduled walkthroughs with Regional Managers, Visual Managers, and Store Managers to share observations, receive feedback, and develop improvement strategies.
- Identify and develop future Visual Managers and leaders.
- Forecast and manage the regional budget accurately.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Visual Merchandising management and/or leadership roles with progressively larger responsibility within Nordstrom.
- Cohesive and well-rounded understanding of all aspects of Visual Merchandising and Nordstrom’s service environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to set clear direction.
- Excellent organizational, delegation, and follow-through skills.
- Proven ability to inspire and develop people.
- Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership.
- Strong strategic planning and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to translate ideas into action and consistently achieve results.
Pay
Annual pay range: $93,500.00 - $155,000.00, dependent on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
