About the role

As the Regional Underwriting Leader, you will be responsible for leading profitable growth and sustained market expansion across the region. This role drives underwriting excellence through disciplined risk selection, pricing integrity, and proactive portfolio management while ensuring strong adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive underwriting performance goals and financial targets.
  • Advance territory development and strengthen agency partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure timely, responsive, and value-driven support for agents and policyholders.
  • Cultivate high-performing teams by investing in talent development, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and building future leaders.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of underwriting experience or related functional area.
  • Preferred 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated profitable portfolio management experience.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in underwriting systems and data analysis tools.
  • Deep understanding of underwriting principles, compliance, and industry standards.
  • Prioritization of CPCU, AU, ARM designations.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure and make timely decisions.
  • Leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong coaching and talent development ability.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field.

Pay and Schedule

The anticipated hiring range is $117,000–$195,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In CA, CT, MA, NJ, NY, and PA, the pay range is $128,700 –$214,500 annual base salary.

Schedule

Employees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in-office schedule. The initial training period may require additional in-office days.
