Regional Transportation Manager

About the role

The Regional Transportation Specialist coordinates transportation planning and execution for Kaycan and KP shipping locations across Canada. This role supports the efficient movement of finished goods and interplant materials by optimizing transportation resources, managing carrier relationships, ensuring service, cost, and operational objectives, creating customs documents, and serving as the siding liaison for customs and border clearance needs.

The Traffic Planner collaborates closely with manufacturing, warehousing, customer service, supply chain, and transportation partners to deliver reliable freight solutions and continuous process improvements within established transportation network strategies and cost parameters.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transportation activities across Canadian shipping locations, including shipment scheduling, carrier selection, freight tendering, dispatch, and driver utilization.
• Manage transportation capacity, cross-border documentation, import/export container coordination, LTL rate negotiation, routing guides, and backup support for U.S. shipping locations.
• Support transportation administration through fuel surcharge updates, invoice review and reconciliation, billing issue resolution, and coordination with key internal teams.
• Improve transportation processes, documentation, systems, and performance tracking to support continuous improvement, technology initiatives, service enhancements, and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (Required).
• 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or cross-border freight movement.
