About the role
This full-time, hybrid position leads the site Safety & Security programs for one region within the PPMM area. The role partners with local, state, and federal law enforcement, supervises site safety teams, and ensures completion of on-site trainings and tracking. It also manages the affiliate’s Volunteer Patient Escort program in collaboration with Volunteer Services.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate ongoing safety and security concerns and advise regional leadership on trends, including recommendations for remediation.
- Conduct on-site Safety & Security audits at least twice per year and develop site-specific action plans to address deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all procedures, controls, and documentation related to Safety & Security.
- Maintain and verify that all physical security measures are operational.
- Respond to critical incidents, providing guidance, support, and on-site services as needed.
- Design, schedule, and ensure completion of annual drills for key incidents (e.g., De-escalation, Active Shooter, Medical Emergency, Shelter in Place, Fire).
- Serve as the on-site Safety & Security liaison for special events, monitoring for disruptive behaviors and coordinating with law enforcement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement, code enforcement, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America Global Safety & Security.
- Ensure proper recording and sharing of incident reports and investigation results.
- Conduct investigations into security violations, crimes against PPMM, and loss of company assets, exercising independent judgment.
- Compile data and files for external requests related to criminal investigations.
- Lead awareness and training meetings on Safety & Security trends for regional teams.
Requirements
- Proven completion of college-level courses in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Cyber Security, Psychology, or similar training.
- Operating knowledge of CCTV systems, alarm and access control systems, and multi-unit Safety & Security leadership.
- Proficiency in public speaking, presentations, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, composing detailed, cohesive, and grammatically correct reports.
- Availability after regular hours to respond to Safety & Security issues.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality.
