About the role
In the role of Regional Solar Site Manager & Energy Storage III at Wagon Trail Energy Center, you will assume responsibility for all operational facets of the maintenance and repair of the solar plant. Your chief priority will be ensuring the team's safety while concurrently focusing on maximizing performance and profitability per the operational framework. This will necessitate devising and executing strategies to elevate maintenance practices, diagnostic capabilities, and overall operational efficiency, resulting in heightened customer satisfaction and reduced service expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Enforce the implementation of Operational Safety Policy Instructions, ensuring field work aligns with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations, promoting sound employee safety practices, and fostering a culture of unparalleled employee safety.
- Actively engage in and lead Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.
- Recruit, nurture, retain, guide, and advance resources at sites to uphold professional standards and foster team development within a matrix environment.
- Assume accountability for all aspects of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and inverter availability.
- Collaborate closely with internal NextEra stakeholders to devise and execute operation-focused feedback and solutions for both planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development initiatives, and financial performance.
- Serve as a positive and professional representative of NextEra Energy within the community and in interactions with customers.
- Oversee the performance of solar field operations within the designated contractual scope of responsibilities for external customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all Power Generation Division (PGD) operational model processes.
- Lead by example and emulate the PGD shared values.
- Ensure all business activities are conducted following corporate policies and are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal permits, codes, standards, and regulations.
- Monitor, control, and forecast plant budgets and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Maintain all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling.
- Perform other collateral duties in support of the Power Generation Division (PGD) portfolio.
- Complete reports and paperwork and use computer-based applications.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possesses either a bachelor's degree in business or engineering or has accumulated six years of equivalent experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated adaptability to different geographic locations for potential future roles.
- At least five years of hands-on experience in leading field services operations, preferably within utility-scale solar operations.
- Proficiency in collaborating effectively within a complex organizational structure and across all levels of the Company.
- Strong executive presentation skills.
- Certification as a Six Sigma green belt or a comparable quality assurance qualification.
- Proficient in network infrastructure, communication protocols, and web technology.
- Established track record of managing profit and loss responsibilities.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities and a track record of thriving in cross-functional and team-oriented environments.
