About the role

The Regional Service Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of service for dealerships and customers, ensuring satisfaction with service work. This role assists customers and dealers with troubleshooting and repair of service-related problems.

Location: Remote/San Francisco CA area

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall service delivery performance levels and customer satisfaction levels of the assigned region.
  • Assist in developing corrective action plans with assigned dealerships and customers to close any service delivery gaps identified.
  • Track, report, and follow up on product and technical issues for dealerships and customers by proactively working with the Autocar Solutions Team.
  • Provide dealerships with suggestions on improving their service department, including reviewing dealer service operations, required tooling, and promoting Autocar-trained technicians to handle workload.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships at all levels of the customer’s organization and maintain customer confidence in the Autocar product.
  • Build strong relationships with Regional Business Managers and National Account Sales in the region.
  • Coordinate with engineering and technical service departments to ensure service performance and quality specifications are met.
  • Plan cost-effective, self-managed travel schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Class B Commercial Driver License or ability to obtain is required.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or ability to obtain is required.
  • Cummins Certification is preferred.
  • Allison Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Autocar Master Technician Certification.
  • Previous experience in the Heavy-Duty Truck industry is required; specific experience in the Refuse industry is preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Office; AXIS (Team Center Engineering - IMAN), QAD, and ADNET preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods while working on computer-aided design software.
  • Capable of standing, walking, and bending during lab testing or production floor visits.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, such as electrical components or testing equipment.
  • Visual acuity for reviewing detailed schematics, inspecting prototypes, and using computer screens.
