Job Summary
About the Role
This position will be responsible for generating business opportunities with new prospects and existing customers within a defined territory by developing and maintaining long-term relationships. This role requires making successful contact with customers in order to properly position and sell the company’s suite of product and service offerings.
Regional Coverage
Regional coverage: Texas (Excluding Austin & Houston), with a primary focus along the I-35 corridor and West Texas.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales goals, for order quantity and gross profit, by cultivating new and existing accounts.
- Maximize daily efficiency by mastering sales, scheduling and communication tools available in proprietary software.
- Collaborate with marketing to convey the DWC brand to distribution partners.
- Create and maintain a strategic travel schedule to fully cover the assigned region and key accounts throughout the year.
- Book flights, rental cars, and travel accommodations in a timely, organized, and economic manner.
- Create thorough call reports that provide lead generation, market intel, and drive business strategy for assigned region.
- Provide reports on vertical and horizontal expansion, new clients and current customer satisfaction measures.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within accounts and develop deep knowledge of the client organization.
- Develop tactical plans for targeting and growing the market.
- Show consistent improvement in sales, sales visits and prospects to clients, new projects and client revenue growth.
- Keep abreast of current and future business trends.
- Liaison on significant customer issues, when required, to preserve customer relationships.
- Leverage current relationships at the local and regional customer level to assist in driving additional revenue.
- Monitor and report on actions and strategy against plans.
- Analyze customer accounts for potential opportunities and sales strategies.
- Collaborate with Account Managers on high level market penetration strategies and execution.
- Promote company culture through leadership behavior.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Effective communicator at all levels, capable of high-level customer interaction within various customer segments.
- Proven ability to negotiate and close deals.

- Highly developed multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to work in high stress situations while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to be forward-thinking and innovative while understanding client needs and the intricacies of our business processes and technologies.
- Ability to develop both internal and external relationships.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business or communication preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience; experience in the electrical wire and cable industry preferred.
- Candidate will ideally be based in either DFW or West Texas.
Physical Requirements
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% yearly.
- Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 pounds, occasional bending and reaching.
