About the role
Manage a defined territory, develop annual business plans for customers, and drive profitable growth while meeting company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Set goals and activity metrics for a network of dedicated brokerage support agents.
- Negotiate and implement local marketing programs, including slotting fees, allowances, deviations, and bid management.
- Leverage geographic knowledge and key relationships to gain access to potential new customers and secure new distribution.
- Monitor and report on market strength, distributor performance, and financial viability.
- Collaborate to identify and penetrate regional customers through cold calling and product promotion.
- Build and penetrate a customer pipeline via lead generation, professional networking, and distributor partnerships.
- Maintain a regular in-market presence, working with distributor partners to execute sales initiatives aligned with company growth goals.
- Ensure distributor and customer accounts receivables comply with company guidelines and monitor performance against targets.
- Provide input and feedback to cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Research & Development, Customer Service, and Production.
- Manage time and resources effectively while operating within assigned budgets.
- Review and scorecard activity from Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications.
Requirements
- 2+ years of direct customer-facing selling experience.
- 2+ years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry (preferred).
- Experience working in a distributor or brokerage environment (preferred).
- Travel required up to 75% of the time.
