Regional Sales Manager - NE Region

About the role

This position is responsible for the retention and growth of truck equipment and trailer business in the Northeast Region (NY, NJ, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME), both with existing customers and through the pursuit of new customers and adjacent markets. The Regional Sales Manager drives revenue growth, enhances profitability, and increases customer loyalty and satisfaction within their assigned geographic sales territory. This role requires extensive collaboration with customer service, operations, and the Clarience Technologies leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and profitable growth above current and target levels by selling Clarience Technologies Covering Solutions products and services to Truck Equipment and Trailer Fleets and Dealers.
  • Develop and refine a revenue forecast and sales funnel pipeline via Salesforce.com to support business unit forecasting, sales inventory, and Operations planning (SIOP).
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products through market research and ongoing visits to customers and prospects.
  • Drive sales growth to O.E.M.’s, Up-fitters, Distributors, and small to large regional fleets.
  • Prospect and develop new customers through cold calling, client introductions, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers using various selling techniques.
  • Review and nurture fleet inquiry sales leads to closure.
  • Attend and assist dealers with state and regional trade shows and sales meetings, providing literature and display materials.
  • Maintain and develop a weekly/monthly sales pipeline based on cold-calling, fleet inquiries, and opportunities with existing customers.
  • Analyze competitor products and pricing to present differentiating sales arguments.
  • Balance customer requests with internal capabilities to avoid unreasonable expectations regarding cost, lead-time, etc.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries, providing updates on due dates or product availability.
  • Research and analyze the territory to identify, prioritize, and develop prospective customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through visits, timely follow-up, and problem-solving.
  • Proactively analyze customer needs and issues, driving continuous improvement and communicating needs to Clarience Technologies staff.
  • Demonstrate outstanding time management skills.
  • Assist with service and warranty compliance during and after the sale.
  • Maintain a basic home office, including company-provided equipment such as a computer/laptop and printer.
  • Comply with company expense reporting policy.
  • Foster open dialogue and teamwork with the Business Unit Leadership Team and regional team members to promote morale and shared successes.
  • Uphold the Clarience Technologies brand in all duties and responsibilities, ensuring personal appearance, vehicle condition, and adherence to customer entertainment guidelines reflect the brand image.
  • Set an example for peers and subordinates in maintaining a consistent brand image.
  • Identify and document personal development objectives using the Clarience Technologies Performance Management process, measuring progress annually with management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or 5+ years of practical experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • Field sales experience in the industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required; Salesforce.com CRM system preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, telephone, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills with the ability to overcome objections and navigate business obstacles.
  • Familiarity with the truck equipment and trailer market segments.
  • Ability to learn and retain product-specific information to advise customers on product selections and requirements.
  • Strong self-motivation and drive for results.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must reside within the assigned region (Northeastern U.S.).
  • Moderate to frequent travel as dictated by regional demands.
  • Work occurs primarily between office and field, with time spent on manufacturing floors or third-party facilities.
  • Physical tasks may include reaching, gripping, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, particularly during customer interactions and trade shows.
