About the role
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for increasing revenue in targeted accounts with a specific focus on flat rolled products, discrete plate, and fabrication sales. This position must achieve or exceed the assigned quota on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
The Regional Sales Manager covers the following region: PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, and WI and will have direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers
- Service and manage existing customers
- Establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing customers and/or new sales prospects
- Effectively build consensus, gain appropriate commitments, and close business
- Provide territory intelligence and serve as a key resource to the inside sales team
- Perform sales management duties (e.g., territory planning reports, month-in-review reports, field sales daily call reports, expense reports)
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry-related associations and events
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or 5+ years of flat roll steel sales
- Skilled in conducting face-to-face presentations, negotiating, closing sales, and account management
- MS Office 2010 proficiency (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Must be highly motivated and possess a personal commitment to the success of the organization
- Travel 50%
