Regional Sales Manager
About the Role
The selected candidate will drive sales for the industrial vacuum portfolio within an assigned territory by building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, end users, and distribution partners. This individual will achieve all annual sales and performance goals while reporting to and collaborating with sales management to execute the region’s annual business plan.
Responsibilities
- Report significant regional activity to sales management, including:
- Ongoing product performance
- Competitive intelligence
- Distribution activity
- Sales strategy development
- New product development
- Customer and technical service updates
- Top buying account profile updates
- Monthly sales forecasts
- Resolve sales, product service, and equipment-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Travel within the sales region according to an established schedule to develop and grow business with customers, national accounts, and end-users.
- Maintain a list of the largest end-users in the region and integrate daily sales call activities into SFDC calendar.
- Conduct daily sales calls on key end-users to drive new project starts and increase market share.
- Track and manage new project starts via the Sales Pipeline in SFDC.
- Perform building surveys and product demonstrations.
- Utilize sales tools and resources to ensure successful project completion.
- Focus on displacing competitive machine lines within Nilfisk distributors to improve market penetration and sales.
- Communicate product information to distributors and end-user accounts accurately and timely.
- Coordinate sales efforts with Strategic Account Managers.
- Perform field tests in support of product management teams.
- Forge long-lasting, profitable relationships with distribution partners, strategic accounts, and large end-user buying accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial sales or a related industry, with emphasis on distribution management and end-user sales/account management.
- Strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and implementing corrective action plans.
- Business maturity and acumen necessary for success in this position.
- Strong selling skills and end-user account management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and SalesForce.
- Effective time and territory management skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills, including gap analysis, action plan development, and implementation.
- Willingness to travel overnight as required.
- Ability to transport company products for demonstrations.
- Capability to conduct product seminars and presentations in front of an audience.
- Ability to pass a physical, including lifting, standing for prolonged periods, and safe driving.
