About the Role
NHS Management is seeking a Regional Sales and Marketing Leader to manage the South Alabama region. This role involves conducting effective sales and marketing programs for assigned locations, providing customers with facility-related information, and managing the inquiry and admission process alongside the facility’s Admission Sales and Marketing Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Facility’s Admission Coordinator to meet resident census and admissions goals.
- Make sales calls (50%+ of time) to medical, insurance, legal, and financial professionals, senior organizations, hospital discharge planners, and community contacts.
- Develop and maintain relationships to advise on bed availability, new products/services, and community needs.
- Utilize Northport Advantage sales practices during the selling process.
- Manage inquiries/referrals, conduct tours, and handle the admission process.
- Monitor bed availability and ensure timely, proper follow-up on inquiries/referrals.
- Maintain a sense of urgency for census and premium mix enhancement.
- Keep a current database of existing and potential referral sources.
- Implement and manage the facility’s Rapid Admission Process (RAP) Program.
- Develop and monitor quarterly marketing forecasts and plans in collaboration with the Administrator and Regional Administrator.
- Alert department heads and staff during daily stand-up meetings about admissions, bed changes, or discharges.
- Utilize bed management principles and maintain close working relationships with the Director of Nursing and Financial Specialist for admission decisions.
Requirements
- One to three years of experience in a sales/marketing position within the long-term care industry; 50-80% outside direct sales preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications or related field (or five years of equivalent experience).
- Two to three years of long-term care/nursing home admissions and marketing experience preferred.
- Effective presentation and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, reimbursement programs from payer sources.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, self-motivated, and goal-directed.
- Capable of leading a high-performing sales and marketing team.
- Flexible work hours for public relations engagements and extensive travel between facilities.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled.
- Ability to perform essential job functions and meet physical/sensory requirements.
