About the role
The Regional Safety Manager plays a critical role in supporting personnel and leadership in developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s safety program. This position partners closely with operational teams to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements while driving a strong safety culture across assigned locations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leadership to implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs at assigned location.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Implement all environmental programs, maintain air and water permits, conduct regulatory reporting, and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Monitor safety reporting processes and support the use of the company’s reporting system (Vocus).
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of West Star Aviation’s Safety Management System (SMS), “Safety 24/7.”
- Prepare, edit, and review technical documentation for internal and external audiences.
- Lead monthly Safety Action Team (SAT) meetings at assigned location.
- Conduct and/or support safety investigations.
- Deliver safety training and maintain accurate records.
- Promote a strong safety culture through reporting, data collection, analysis, and information sharing.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis.
- Stay informed on industry changes, including regulations, technology, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Quality department personnel on safety-related initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in aviation operations and/or safety management is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation safety, maintenance, or operations.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations is also required.

- Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet airport security background check requirements.
