This position requires the ability to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

  • Build regional public affairs strategies for diverse market portfolios, assessing community conditions and political landscapes to guide engagement levels at each stage of market development.
  • Collaborate with in-market consultants to develop comprehensive market plans and achieve strategic goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior community stakeholders, including civic leaders, neighborhood associations, coalition partners, and key non-elected influencers across your markets.
  • Support strategic mapping efforts in coordination with internal policy experts and consultants, identifying advocates and opportunities within your regions.
  • Oversee the design and execution of community activations and events, ensuring each initiative aligns with market-specific objectives.
  • Identify, cultivate, and mobilize local advocates to champion the company’s mission.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal policy, operational, and communications and marketing teams to ensure community efforts are aligned with business priorities and regulatory timelines.
  • Provide regular intelligence briefs to leadership on community sentiment, political developments, and emerging risks or opportunities across your region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 8 to 10 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, community organizing, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and coordinating with consultants or agencies and collaborating effectively across diverse internal teams.
  • Strong political and community instincts, with a proven track record of navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Ability to operate independently across multiple markets while maintaining tight alignment with a central team.
  • Persuasive communication skills, capable of representing the company effectively at community meetings, civic hearings, and senior stakeholder conversations.
  • Experience in technology, transportation, or other regulated industries.
