Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in developing regional public affairs strategies across a diverse portfolio of markets, assessing community conditions and political landscapes to tailor engagement approaches at every stage of market development.
  • Collaborate closely with in-market consultants to devise comprehensive market plans and drive their successful execution to achieve strategic goals.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with senior community stakeholders, including civic leaders, neighborhood associations, coalition partners, and influential non-elected individuals within assigned markets.
  • Contribute to powermapping initiatives in coordination with internal teams and consultants, pinpointing key advocates and strategic opportunities within your regions.
  • Help oversee the conceptualization and implementation of impactful community activations and events, ensuring each initiative directly supports market-specific objectives.
  • Identify, nurture, and mobilize local advocates who will champion the mission and vision of the client.
  • Work seamlessly across various internal teams, including policy, operations, and communications, to ensure community engagement efforts align with business priorities and regulatory timelines.
  • Provide regular, insightful intelligence briefs to management, covering community sentiment, political shifts, and emerging risks or opportunities across your region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 8 to 10 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, community organizing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and coordinating effectively with external consultants or agencies, as well as navigating complex cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional political and community instincts, coupled with a proven track record of successfully operating within intricate, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong ability to work autonomously across multiple markets while maintaining tight alignment and coordination with a central team.
  • Highly persuasive communication skills, enabling confident representation of the company in community meetings, civic hearings, and high-level stakeholder discussions.
  • Experience within technology, transportation, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
