Regional Production Specialist Sr, Excess & Surplus Lines
About the role
The Senior Regional Production Specialist plays a crucial role in managing healthcare underwriting within an assigned branch office and handling referral decisions for complex portfolios. This role involves strategic responsibilities such as developing, implementing, and evaluating underwriting strategies, pricing, marketing, staff management, business development, renewals, budgeting, and new product development.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Healthcare underwriting within an assigned Branch Office
- Handle referral decisions for the most complex portfolios
- Take on a strategic component in the development, implementation, and evaluation of underwriting strategies and guidelines
- Illustrate sufficient technical analysis, combine strong underwriting acumen with necessary sales and marketing skills to achieve profitable growth targets
- Coach, train, and develop junior staff to their fullest potential
- Produce, underwrite, manage, and service a profitable book of business
- Utilize underwriter authority in accordance with published underwriting guidelines
- Manage a portfolio of renewal and new business, including accounts made up of complex risks
- Achieve profitability by seeking out and securing new and profitable business
- Negotiate and secure policy terms that align with company directives, especially using new product and service offerings to bring value to the client
- Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects, including knowledge of current product penetration and specific plans to increase company share
- Develop, position, market, and deliver innovative, market-leading products and services through regional framework to a network of producers, leveraging our strengths as a competitive differentiator
- Develop framework for underwriting authority
- Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and ensure AIG stakeholders understand the Lexington Healthcare business model, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume
- Support an effective reinsurance strategy that supports our risk appetite for per risk and aggregation
- Proactively foster and develop positive relationships with key customers
- Develop tools and strategies, in collaboration with HR, to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams
- Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity, and inclusion
- Coordinate strategy and work collaboratively with other aligned business functions including claims, actuarial, and consulting
- Work alongside our Distribution Partners (Business Development Managers and/or Client Directors) to effectively maximize our distribution partner network
- Provide direction and support to junior underwriters on new and renewal business
Requirements
- At least 8+ years of excess Healthcare insurance leadership experience
- Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and distribution
- Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results, and leading effective teams
- Established strong relationships with customers and intermediaries
- Skilled leader of change; versatile, client focused, results oriented
- Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills
- Expert technical underwriting background
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution experience

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $173,000, with eligibility for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
