Key Responsibilities
Contract Ownership & Commercial Management:
- Lead contract development, negotiation, and management, ensuring clarity on scope, deliverables, and terms.
- Manage contract terms, deliverables, milestones, and commercial obligations.
- Conduct detailed contract reviews during project kickoff.
- Maintain awareness of contractual rights and obligations.
- Administer the change management process, including identification, documentation, costing, negotiation, and approval of change orders.
- Ensure timely issuance of contractual notifications.
- Review subcontractor and vendor agreements for alignment with prime contract requirements.
- Lead commercial closeout, including final invoicing, deliverables, lien waivers, warranty documentation, and claims resolution.
- Maintain audit-ready records demonstrating compliance with contract requirements and risk management processes.
Commercial Accountability:
- Oversee budget management, financial forecasting, and cost control for all projects.
- Identify opportunities for commercial improvements and efficiencies.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and reporting.
Risk Management:
- Implement and maintain robust risk management processes.
- Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
Project Execution and Leadership:
- Lead project planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentor and develop team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the main point of contact for all project and commercial discussions.
- Provide clear, regular communication of project performance, risks, contract issues, and milestones.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization.
- Represent Bilfinger at industry events, client meetings, and stakeholder forums.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish and track performance metrics.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management.
- Drive initiatives for process optimization and innovation.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define project strategies.
- Analyze market trends and client needs.
- Develop strategic initiatives.
Resource Management:
- Allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor workforce performance and productivity.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Champion a culture of safety.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
Training and Development:
- Identify skill gaps within the team.
- Implement training programs.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
- Analyze project outcomes to identify lessons learned and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, operations management, or contract management, preferably within the industrial services, oil and gas, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of commercial principles, contract law, and risk management practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
