Regional Operations Manager

About the Role

The Regional Operations Manager supervises, staffs, trains, and oversees the successful operation of all locations within the region, ensuring financial performance and maintaining profit and loss statements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all OSHA and Safety Standards set forth by company policy and procedure manuals.
  • Oversee all training programs pertinent to the locations and/or region.
  • Maintain a profitable business unit and achieve all budgeted goals.
  • Ensure new employee orientation and onboarding is performed successfully.
  • Physically attend and actively participate in Business Review meetings with the leadership team, providing insights, updates, and strategic input.
  • Coordinate and assist in the hiring of General Managers.
  • Work with the recruiting team to ensure a steady flow of applications, including attending technical school job fairs and other recruiting activities.
  • Fill in as the General Manager at locations when needed.
  • Perform inventory audits and correct inventory issues.
  • Assist in maintaining proper product levels at all locations.
  • Operate and troubleshoot POS systems, computers, and printers.
  • Review employee scheduling to ensure coverage, fairness, and consistency.
  • Resolve warranty claims through proper channels.
  • Perform compliance inspections and ensure operational standards are maintained.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and construction teams to ensure equipment and facilities are well maintained.
  • Communicate with the Sales & Marketing team as required.
  • Perform routine market evaluations throughout the assigned region.
  • Ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained at all shops and company vehicles.
  • Evaluate locations’ Profit and Loss statements and assist General Managers in addressing opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies to grow business.
  • Evaluate expenses and margins at locations to ensure budgeted goals are met.
  • Assist in evaluating, setting budgets, and operating within budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure all shop personnel act and look professional in accordance with the policy manual.
  • Provide friendly and competent customer service.
  • Report for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
  • Follow the Safety Manual & Policy/Procedure manual as described.
  • Ensure personal and location LMS training stays current and up to date.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise 5 or more Service Center Managers.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five to eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the shop industry.
  • Some knowledge of the tire industry.
  • Ability to read and understand monthly P&L statements.
  • Ability to read, follow, and implement budget controls.
  • Reliable transportation and phone.
  • Current valid driver's license and insurable to drive.
  • Work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including some 6- or 7-day workweeks, with the bulk of time spent in the facilities.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, and as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service.
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Ability to travel by air as needed for business meetings, reviews, conferences, and other work-related events.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, with hotel stays required at least 50% of the time.
