Regional Operations Director, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD
About the role
You step onto a campus and immediately catch what others miss — the ceiling tile that's come loose and hasn't been recorded, the HVAC return making noise for days, the landscaping contractor who completed half the checklist yet submitted a complete invoice. You don't wait for feedback from a parent. You fix what's broken before it becomes visible. That awareness defines this position.
Responsibilities
Performing scheduled site inspections across Northwest locations using documented benchmarks for cleanliness, HVAC systems, safety protocols, security measures, signage, grounds maintenance, furnishings, and visitor readiness — and ensuring corrective actions are completed and confirmed.
Managing facility incidents and urgent requests, coordinating contractor response, and closing work orders only after on-site verification of resolution (urgent response within 24 hours, standard requests within one week).
Overseeing local contractor compliance with service-level agreements, terminating vendors who consistently underdeliver, renegotiating contracts, and conducting direct accountability discussions regarding quality and pricing.
Establishing a consistent weekly operational rhythm with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure uniform execution of procedures rather than ad-hoc problem solving.
Managing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC system updates, interior design upgrades, landscaping enhancements, AV and network infrastructure) on time and within budget while minimizing student impact.
Documenting organization-wide standards and AI-supported procurement frameworks (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT sensors and predictive maintenance tools, and centralized vendor management) to ensure consistency across all current and future campuses.
Delivering concise weekly written updates covering regional facility quality, contractor performance, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking.
Requirements
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area (strongly preferred) — or alternatively within the broader Northwest region: CA, WA, NV, UT, OR, or ID — with willingness to work primarily from the Bay Area campus and travel 30–50% of the time to regional sites.
Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-location facilities operations, regional operations, hospitality management, retail operations, or educational facility operations.
Documented success managing third-party service providers for quality, cost control, and service-level agreement performance across multiple sites.
Practical experience addressing urgent facility problems (safety hazards, HVAC failures, security breaches, cleanliness standards) with measurable impact on customer satisfaction.
Disciplined written communication practices: maintaining issue logs, documenting escalations, tracking vendor follow-up, producing weekly regional performance reports.
Practical experience with contemporary operations technology (work order management systems, IoT monitoring and predictive maintenance platforms, AI-enhanced procurement or planning tools).

Leadership experience in multi-site premium hospitality operations, luxury retail environments, private K–12 schools, or healthcare facilities serving demanding clientele.
Demonstrated success building or repairing a regional operations framework that previously depended on individual effort rather than documented processes.
Success terminating poor-performing vendors and developing a reliable local contractor network.
Project management experience overseeing capital improvements (HVAC replacements, AV and networking installations, landscaping renovations, interior updates) in active, customer-facing facilities.
Exposure to AI-integrated operations where automated playbooks, real-time dashboards, and predictive analytics handle routine tasks and allow staff to concentrate on decision-making.
