Responsibilities

  • Aid in the planning, organization, and direction of Quality Assurance programs and related activities for all assisted living facilities.
  • Support Facility Department Heads and staff in evaluating programs and making necessary changes to improve programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide written Quality Assurance standards and criteria to facilitate orientation and in-service training regarding QA policies.
  • Assist in the development of a plan of action and follow-up procedures for identified problems.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, sentinel events, abuse, and misappropriation of resident property, summarize findings, and file reports to appropriate staff and agencies.
  • Maintain tracking logs, incident and accidents, medication errors, etc., and monitor for trends requiring corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies as needed.
  • Aid in reeducation of staff when developing corrective action plans from completed audits or chart reviews.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Executive Director (ED) and Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) concerning any problems or deficiencies.
  • Aid the ED and RCC in finding resolutions to problem areas identified.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring to ensure consistency in QA activities across facilities and minimize duplication of QA activities.
  • Participate in planning with the ED and RCC for resolving problem areas identified through the monitoring process.
  • Offer in-service training on an as-needed basis.
  • Visit facilities regularly for QA compliance monitoring.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to the CEO, Vice President of Operations, and Regional Directors concerning QA program performance.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as completing forms, writing reports, etc., and submit to the Vice President of Operations, Administrator, or appropriate designee as directed.
  • Incapacity of Interim Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) as necessary until the position is filled.
  • Participate in meetings as directed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN)
  • Current RN license in good standing
  • At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in assisted living facilities preferred

  • Experience in Quality Assurance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
