Regional Manager-Volunteer Development Team, Mid-Atlantic South (Remote in Lynchburg, VA or Richmond, VA)

About the Role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Regional Manager for the Mid-Atlantic South region to serve with Operation Christmas Child (OCC). This remote-based position is located in either Lynchburg, VA or Richmond, VA. The role focuses on identifying, cultivating, and developing leaders (Area Coordinators) who will establish volunteer teams to carry out the mission and vision of OCC in their communities and churches.

Frequent travel is required (60-75 days annually) within the region and to the Processing Center during peak season (4-6 weeks), which may involve temporary relocation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Recruit, select, equip, lead, and develop year-round leader volunteers according to the High Impact model of volunteer ministry.
• Lead volunteer teams in a defined geographic area to accomplish goals in church outreach, community engagement, media, prayer, and the establishment and retention of a collection network.
• Ensure volunteer teams are spiritually healthy and well-equipped with resources to build relationships with local churches, groups, and individual donors.
• Coordinate with regional staff and volunteers to create and implement strategic plans and initiatives to accomplish measurable ministry goals.
• Potential to serve on the Management Team in an Operation Christmas Child shoebox Processing Center for 4-6 weeks in November and December.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; five to seven years of experience leading volunteers and teams to meet goals and expectations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience managing, coaching, and leading volunteer teams to implement and achieve program goals from a Biblical perspective.
• Experience working with the local church, including interaction with pastors, leaders, and members.
• Highly organized, self-starter who takes initiative to reach goals and deadlines; strategic thinker.
• Collaborative team player who enjoys seeing team members succeed.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others with an optimistic outlook and positive attitude.
• Passionate about raising awareness and participation in OCC and establishing more lifelong donors for OCC and Samaritan’s Purse.
• 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required). If not already completed, the opportunity to meet this requirement is available upon hire.

Fluency in English is required.
