About the role

The RLC Psychology Lecturer (RLC-PSY-Lecturer) is responsible for creating, managing, and participating in various learning environments and activities designed to help RLC students achieve their learning objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses as scheduled and oversees the curriculum in collaboration with the Department’s policies.
  • Designs lessons to foster talent in students and models comprehensive teaching strategies, considering individual differences.
  • Identifies students with academic or other needs and responds appropriately by utilizing available resources.
  • Uses technology in appropriate ways to support course curriculum and communicates clear expectations to students regarding its use.
  • Maintains accurate records, including attendance, grades, and provides feedback to students.
  • Creates and maintains accurate syllabi that incorporate departmental, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.
  • Selects appropriate materials to support course curriculum in line with the College’s guidelines.
  • Counsels potential or current students within the discipline about the program, career, or transfer options available to assist with degree completion.
  • Encourages a sense of community among students for learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of educational effectiveness through participation in research and sharing best practices.
  • Attends faculty meetings and participates in departmental and institutional committees.
  • Maintains required professional credentials, licenses, and continuing education hours.

Requirements

A Master's Degree in Psychology or School Psychology from an accredited college or university is required. Experience in teaching/learning settings is also necessary.

Pay

9-Month Lecturers Salary: $43,848.00 - $50,112.00
Autumn/Spring: $21,924 (21 hrs.) - $25,056 (24 hrs.)
Optional Summer Semester (15-21 contact hours): $15,660.00 - $21,924.00
Optional Overload (maximum amounts shown): Autumn Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00
Spring Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00
Summer Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00

About The ACF

The Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) position at Columbus State is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. ACFs are typically placed on a one-year, two-semester contract that is renewable each year.
