The Regional Leader of Marketing (RLM) is the marketing expert within their region, responsible for managing the Area Leaders of Marketing (ALMs). This role oversees the ongoing training and development of ALMs, ensuring they understand marketing programs, processes, brand philosophies, and standards. The RLM also plans and executes regional marketing activities, including leading the negotiation and management of higher-profile sponsorships.

The physical work environment includes a fast-paced kitchen setting with extended periods of physical exertion (walking, standing, lifting, and bending), customer interaction, and work in varied temperatures. Responsibilities involve handling food products, common allergens, industrial equipment, and commercial cleaning products, requiring personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, hires, and trains exceptional Area Leaders of Marketing within their region.
  • Manages a dynamic team of marketers, fostering collaborative and innovative team dynamics.
  • Supports the individual development of all ALMs with continued training in identified growth areas.
  • Acts as the regional marketing expert, working with the Regional Business Unit team to set regional-level goals and ensure alignment on marketing initiatives.
  • Develops and executes regional-level marketing plans annually, re-evaluating quarterly.
  • Supports ALMs in developing restaurant and market-level marketing plans through brainstorming, coaching, and feedback.
  • Supports ALMs with the sponsorship process, including planning, negotiation, and partnership management.
  • Leads the sponsorship process for all high-profile sponsorships, ensuring compliance and maximization of benefits.
  • Ensures all restaurants and markets have marketing support and acts as backup for any gaps.
  • Supports ALMs with on- and off-site market-level activities that promote the brand and local community.
  • Spends time in-person with ALMs, supporting activities, restaurant visits, community outreach, and relationship building.
  • Leads planning and execution for high-profile new restaurant opening marketing plans.
  • Supports ALMs with new restaurant opening marketing, including plan development, pre-canvassing, on-site support, and post-opening activities.
  • Enforces Raising Cane’s brand standards and marketing philosophies, ensuring ALMs’ full understanding and adherence.
  • Leads regional-level reporting and assists ALMs with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
  • Collaborates with the RSO to influence the evolution of programs, systems, and processes.
  • Works directly with RSO teams to ensure successful rollout of new campaigns, programs, and tools, gathering feedback for improvements.
  • Supports activations and activities planned at the support office level as needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of marketing experience; previous experience leading and directing a team preferred.
  • Field marketing experience in a multi-unit restaurant or retail environment.
  • Strong people management skills, with a proven record of leading, coaching, and developing a team.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and negotiating sponsorships, including establishing relationships, negotiating contracts, and managing partnerships.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple changing priorities.
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Able to travel up to 80% within the designated area and required to live within the assigned region.
  • Able to work nonstandard hours, including nights and weekends, to support brand-promoting events.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing & Communications degree preferred) or relevant experience in a field marketing role.

Pay

Starting from $135,000 - $160,000 annually plus additional incentives. The total compensation package may include a performance bonus, discretionary awards, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave). Pay is based on location, experience, and qualifications.
