About the role
The Regional Inventory Control Manager plays a key role in advancing inventory strategy and developing expertise to strengthen the functional structure within the assigned region, sector, or portfolio. This position provides leadership and strategic oversight for implementing and adhering to best practices in inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement best-practice policies, procedures, and techniques for inventory management.
- Monitor and report on inventory issues and compliance regularly.
- Serve as a point of escalation, mentor, and leader for lower-level inventory staff, fostering a community among inventory control professionals.
- Act as the inventory liaison between vendors, customers, and internal departments to achieve operational objectives for the assigned region or sector.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for inventory control disciplines and their application.
- Support hiring, training, and development of inventory control associates.
- Provide guidance, training, and direction to the organization on inventory control practices.
- Develop, coordinate, and establish best practices for inventory management.
- Ensure understanding of existing inventory management practices, reporting, and commercial requirements.
- Recommend and implement policies, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records of inventory activities and status.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures that support strong inventory control practices at all sites.
- Define and refine consistent site metrics and reporting standards.
- Provide leadership, support, and training to ensure the integrity of inventory metrics.
- Lead inventory analysis, including physical inventories.
- Establish and maintain inventory discrepancy investigations, generating appropriate reporting to maintain adequate inventory levels and control.
- Stay current with technology enhancements in the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of work-related experience in inventory control, logistics, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution, or a related field.
- 3+ years in an Inventory Control Manager role, preferably in a unit pick environment and within a large company.
- 3+ years of client relationship experience (preferred).
