Job Duties
- Develop, implement, and/or steward safety programs, claims management, and compliance with government regulatory agencies and corporate operating procedures.
- Guide and coordinate the execution of safety and corporate loss control initiatives at multi-site locations.
- Help ensure that procedures, rules and local standards are applied.
- In some geographies, Champions EHS promotion and communication activities including but not limited to safety talks, recognition events and achievement celebrations.
- Develop initiatives to process changes and foster shared commitment for supporting and executing environment, health, and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in occupational safety and health / environmental sciences / engineering or a related technical field.
- 30-hour OSHA training for construction required (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Professional certifications in occupational safety and health or related fields (CSP, CIH, CHST, CSMC) desired.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in HSE management and oversight with focus on construction safety requirements.
- At least 2 years should be in an HSE supervisory capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of the types of risks associated with heavy construction work (working at height, confined space entry, control of hazardous energy, excavations, cranes and rigging).
- Understanding of the different types of hazards in industrial and construction settings, including those related to human and organizational factors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. OSHA standards under 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 and the practical application of their requirement in construction/industrial settings.
- Ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to help identify, document and implement best practices.
- Ability to influence both Air Liquide and customer decision-makers.
- Computer skills preferably with Google suite of applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides etc.).
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
