Regional Fulfillment Center Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

The Regional Fulfillment Center Maintenance Manager at Chewy is responsible for directing maintenance and reliability activities across multiple fulfillment centers in the East region. This role involves putting network strategy into regional practice, managing performance, cultivating talent, and unifying standards across locations.

Reporting & Scope

Reports to: Associate Director, Maintenance & Reliability
Manages maintenance operation results within a specified East region of fulfillment centers
Requires proficiency in both MHE/automation systems and base building fundamentals

What You’ll Do

• Regional Leadership & Execution
• Takes responsibility for regional results in safety, reliability/uptime, cost, and people outcomes
• Ensures consistent application of maintenance standards across sites
• Led implementation throughout the region, guaranteeing completion of network priorities and ongoing outcomes
• Establishes and runs a strong regional operating cadence to review important metrics, remove barriers, and accelerate best-practice adoption across sites
• People Leadership
• Leads through Maintenance Managers and site leadership
• Mentor, develop, and hold leaders accountable to expectations, standard work, and outcomes
• Builds bench strength: talent reviews, succession planning, promotion readiness, and targeted development plans for site leaders
• Reinforces a culture of ownership, high standards, and psychological safety—where performance and accountability are clear and consistent
• Standardization & Continuous Improvement
• Drives consistency in maintenance execution: planning and scheduling within the field, PM compliance, work quality, defect elimination, and pathways for addressing critical issues
• Identifies systemic gaps and partners with cross-functional collaborators to implement durable corrective actions
• Cross-Functional Partnership
• Pairs with Operations, Safety, Finance, Engineering, and external vendors to align priorities, unblock execution, and ensure operational readiness

What You’ll Need

• 8+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, facilities, or industrial operations; multi-site leadership strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead leaders (manager-of-managers), build talent pipelines, and drive accountability
• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Strong working knowledge of: MHE/automation, conveyance/sortation systems, and reliability practices
• Base building systems and facility asset fundamentals
• Established track record of advancing safety, uptime, cost, and collective performance
• Financial competence: operating cost management, basic CAPEX/OPEX understanding, and performance tradeoffs
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region (anticipated 30–50%, based on network needs)
