Regional Field Manager, Kansas - Wichita

About the Role

As a Regional Field Manager on our Americans for Prosperity-Kansas team, you will identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in Kansas, mobilize them to take action, and drive policy reform that opens opportunities for all. This role will be based in Wichita and the western Kansas region.

Responsibilities

• Identify activists in various parts of western Kansas who are currently - or could become - leaders in their local communities as elected officials or citizen organizers and motivate them to advocate for change.
• Equip these local leaders to advocate for changes that are consistent with principles AFP believes in, by connecting them to training and other resources of AFP.
• Organize events to engage the public through phone calls, social media, and door-to-door outreach, as well as innovate new ways to educate people on public policy issues and initiatives.
• Maintain regular contact with activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
• Manage part-time canvassing contractors, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices.

Requirements

• Passion for building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and inspiring them to take action.
• Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
• Self-motivation and strong organizational skills to manage multiple events and activities.
• Ability to work well in a team with AFP staff and activists.
• Willingness to canvass neighborhoods, make phone calls, and coordinate volunteers for AFP initiatives and endorsed candidates.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within western Kansas.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and/or political campaigns is preferred.
• Volunteer or staff supervisory experience is a plus.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $50,000–$65,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation based on overall contribution to the organization.
