About the role

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is seeking a Regional Field Manager (Grassroots Engagement Director) for our Texans team. This role is based in the Western Houston/Katy region.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in Texas, mobilizing them to take action and drive policy reform.
  • Equip local leaders with the training and resources necessary to advocate for changes consistent with AFP’s principles.
  • Organize events to engage the public through various methods, including phone calls, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Stay in regular contact with activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
  • Manage part-time canvassing contractors, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and adherence to best practices.

Requirements

  • Passion for people and the ability to quickly build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organizing, and/or political campaigns.
  • Volunteer or staff supervisory experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license for travel needs.
  • Flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple events and activities.
  • Experience with public speaking and community engagement.
