Regional Facility Support Technician

Overview

Join the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) as a Regional Facility Support Technician (Administrative Asst III) in El Paso, TX. The position assists Regional Business Services Officers with facility issues, serves as the Local Office Coordinator (or backup), and performs a variety of administrative, inventory, and support duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and handle repair calls for facilities; assign and track work tasks.
• Coordinate with Lessors and Vendors to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
• Provide administrative support such as drafting correspondence, maintaining records, completing forms, and preparing routine or special reports.
• Develop and maintain reports for regional facilities, contracts, and leases; respond to facility‑related information requests.
• Communicate internally and externally to exchange information, answer inquiries, and resolve complaints.
• Assist with office moves, physical inventory, warehouse operations, receptionist/switchboard, and mailroom/copy‑center duties.
• Provide basic technical assistance on policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist in developing standards or procedures for assigned areas.
• Perform advanced stock and inventory work, process shipping requests, manage key inventory, and order supplies.
• Process purchase request forms for services and goods.
• Maintain business services records, files, and routing reports for all transactions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and office equipment.
• Understanding of agency policies and ability to interpret them.
• Proficiency with standard agency computer hardware and software, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare concise reports.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Vehicle operation skills, including one‑ton/four‑ton trucks, vans, and trailer pulling, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Physical ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 lb; operate a forklift and pallet jack.

Registrations, Licensure, and Certifications

• Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.

Pay

Salary range: $3,337.17 – $4,365.66 per month (pay frequency: monthly). Salary offers vary based on employee status and recent comparable experience as detailed in the posting.

Schedule

• Shift: Day (first shift).
• Travel: Up to 30 % of time, including possible overnight travel for emergency/disaster situations.
• Telework: Not eligible for telework.

Additional Information

• High school diploma or GED required.
