Summary
Supervise the distribution, use, care, maintenance, and repairs of the regional equipment fleet in Central Indiana.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Dispatch mechanics for repairs in shop or field
- Schedule and manage the preventative maintenance and repair of construction equipment
- Team with regional offices and projects to assist with equipment needs
- Team with fellow Regional Equipment Supervisors for resource coordination
- Cookordinate equipment rental needs through Transportation and Rental Equipment Supervisor
- Cookordinate equipment moves through Transportation and Rental Equipment Supervisor
- Maintain positive vendor relationships
- Daily travel to regional offices and job sites
- Train operators on the basic use, operation, care, and lubrication of equipment
- Regular equipment checks to ensure crews are performing recommended daily lubrication and maintenance
- Solicit and review estimates for maintenance and repairs
- Authorize and approved estimates for maintenance and repairs and issue PO with repair codes to vendors
- Assemble, code, and approve packing slips from all mechanics and send to Goshen office weekly
- Approve and code invoices received from Goshen office daily
- SOURCE and ORDER parts for multiple makes and models of equipment
- Daily approval of mechanic timecards
- Aid mechanics with equipment trouble shooting
- Ongoing cost analysis of commonly used parts and supplies to insure the best value for the company
- Occasional overnight travel when required
- Occasional nights and weekends when required
Qualifications
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in the maintenance, repair and management of site development and heavy highway construction equipment specializing in the paving industry
- Experience with asphalt paving is a must
- Complete understanding of machine and paver automation
- Strong technical paver skills preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) are essential
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail are essential
- Self-Motivated; ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential
- Must have good organization skills
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
