About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Amazon is looking for a talented and self-motivated Environmental Audit Program Manager to support AWS in the AMER region. The successful candidate will join the AWS Environmental team, an expanding and dynamic team that is critical to enabling AWS's growth around the world, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance and highest-level environmental performance of AWS's data center global operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leadership and commitment: Support the Environmental Audit program to evolve and meet changing organizational needs, stakeholder expectations, and environmental challenges, and securing necessary resources and support for continuous improvement. Collaborate with wider environmental team, operations leaders and top management to perform reviews and updates needed to ensure the audit program remains relevant and effective.
  • Risk management and planning: Support the ongoing identification and assessment of environmental risks identified through the audit program across AWS global operations. Develop and implement strategic plans to address significant environmental risks and opportunities, setting ambitious yet achievable improvements.
  • Implementation and operation: Oversee the design and deployment of our Audit program to enhance environmental performance to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements. Lead associated environmental audit training and awareness programs to embed audit skills throughout the organization.
  • Performance evaluation: Establish and manage a robust system for monitoring, measuring, and reporting performance of the Audit program. Conduct regular internal audits of Environmental Management System and regulatory compliance and analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement. Present performance reports and recommendations to top management.
  • Continual improvement: Drive the ongoing enhancement of the Audit program leading management reviews, implementing corrective and preventative actions, and identifying innovative approaches to improve environmental performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
  • Experience in handling internal & external audits
  • Experience performing and/or participating in technical assessments in direct support of a major compliance effort (e.g. ISO 14001)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical program management experience
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish

Pay

Base salary range: $127,100 – $171,900 USD annually (depending on location: Herndon, VA or Seattle, WA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
