Regional Director of Perinatal Care/Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Clinical Care

Provide in-person and remote comprehensive consultations for high-risk and medically complex pregnant patients, including maternal and fetal complications at all three facilities.

Perform and interpret advanced obstetric ultrasounds, including Doppler studies and perinatal diagnostic procedures.

Perform and interpret obstetric ultrasounds including NT and Doppler studies.

Amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, and external cephalic version.

Intrapartum and postpartum patient care requiring maternal-fetal medicine management.

Diagnostics & Procedural Duties

Diagnostic and procedural duties include performing and interpreting obstetric ultrasounds including NT and Doppler studies.

Perform amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, and external cephalic version.

Conduct antepartum fetal assessments (NST, BPP).

Inpatient general obstetric privileges at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan.

Academics, Teaching, and Education

Supervise and teach residents, students (medical, PA, NP, CNM, sonography), sonographers, and related staff.

Participate in activities related to the residency program at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan, including lectures, simulations, and journal club.

Mentor and advise residents and medical students.

Support required research activities and PI/QA projects of the Department, as required.

Participate in Grand Rounds and departmental academic activities, as requested.

Leadership and Administration

Oversight and management of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan, including the antepartum testing areas and obstetric ultrasound.

Involvement in the collaborative agreement with Maimonides Medical Center Division of Maternal-Fetal medicine for clinical services.

Participation on PI/QA projects and committees, as required.

Participation in RCA activities, as requested.

Annual reporting of data including outcomes to the Department Chairs (to be shared as part of the medical board annual update) with a divisional strategic plan.

Acquisition and/or maintenance of AIUM credentialing of ultrasound units.
