REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Based in Richmond VA
About the role
In 1978, two family members bought a bankrupt hotel in Lumberton, North Carolina, and built something lasting. Today Shamin Hotels is the largest hotel owner and operator in Virginia, with more than 70 hotels across multiple states. We're still growing, and we need a Regional Director of Operations who can help write our next chapter. This role is for an operator who knows that great hotels are built by great people, and who can move a P&L as confidently as they can coach a General Manager. Based in Richmond, you'll lead a diverse group of properties. You'll be the person our General Managers call for guidance, the leader our corporate team relies on for regional insight, and a steady presence when things get hard.
Why this role is different
You've run hotels in more than one world. You know the polish and complexity of full-service operations, and you've delivered results in select-service and extended-stay hotels, where lean teams and sharp execution make the difference. You've done it with the brands that set the standard: Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, and IHG. Here, you'll use all of it.
Responsibilities
- Lead the region. Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple hotels and make sure every guest has a consistently great stay, whatever the brand or segment.
- Own the numbers. Read the financials, build budgets with your GMs, and use RevPAR, ADR, GOP, and occupancy to find opportunities others miss.
- Develop leaders. Coach and mentor General Managers and property leadership teams. Partner with HR to recruit, train, and keep top talent.
- Champion the guest. Make sure every property meets or exceeds brand and service standards, and turn guest feedback into real improvement.
- Protect what we've built. Run property visits, audits, and inspections that keep hotels compliant, safe, and on-brand.
- Think big picture. Work with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to win in each market, and help align regional strategy with company goals.
- Lead in a crisis. Guide emergency preparedness and response, and spot risks before they become problems.
