Regional Director of Clinical Services

About the role

This independent position is responsible for all aspects of clinical services at the regional level, supporting communities in all states where Franciscan Ministries and Franciscan Advisory Services operate. The role involves monitoring clinical processes, training, auditing, and supporting community Nursing Management to ensure the delivery of quality care, with a focus on quality standards and organizational objectives. Travel is approximately 75% of the time, primarily to IL, IN, and OH, with the remainder of the work being remote.

Responsibilities

• Assist community leadership in achieving and maintaining key indicator benchmarks and quality measures above state and national averages to ensure optimal resident outcomes.
• Onboard and train new clinical leadership hires at the communities.
• Audit, train, and ensure adoption of the electronic health record platform.
• Conduct targeted reviews, mock surveys, and survey preparedness activities to ensure compliance and readiness for annual surveys.
• Ensure clinical leadership is knowledgeable about new regulations and standards implemented by regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a resource for survey preparation, adhering to standard practices, CMS guidelines, and Franciscan Ministries policies.
• Assist with Plans of Correction as needed and monitor new QA processes developed in response to citations.
• Utilize competency tools to ensure clinical staff practice meets professional standards, collaborating with community Clinical Leaders to identify needs.
• Stay updated on current professional standards of practice, laws, and regulations impacting the communities.
• Provide oversight for planning and organizing Quality Improvement activities at the communities.
• Identify and assist in the development and revision of policies, procedures, and forms as needed.
• Monitor Risk Management and Compliance issues within communities and report them to leadership and the VP of Clinical Services.
• Serve as a resource and expert in infection control practices and surveillance, analyzing data to prevent infections, including direct observations and corrections.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• 5+ years of clinical leadership experience.

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge and proficiency in electronic health care records (Point Click Care preferred).
• Proficiency in federal and state regulatory requirements.
• 75% travel required.

Pay

Annual salary range: $145,000 – $153,000 USD.
