Responsibilities
- Cookbook the day-to-day business development operations, overseeing the execution of business development initiatives.
- Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and CRM activities for the business development team.
- Assist the Director of Patient Services in setting organizational patient volume projections and resource allocations.
- Monitor and adjust resource allocations based on budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to meet budgetary patient volume projections.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
- Recruit, select, orient, and support the business development team.
- Enhance community, customer, payer, and patient perceptions of the organization.
- Support the Director of Patient Services in strategic planning, including service line identification and customer needs assessment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of markets, including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor strategies.
- Identify and recommend new service opportunities and changes to existing services.
- Collaborate with community coordinators to build and maintain strong relationships with key consumers and identify new opportunities.
- Report on the cost-effectiveness of business development efforts and contribute to strategic plans.
- Forecast requirements and prepare an annual budget, working closely with Chief Officers and Executive Directors.
- Implement and enforce production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Resolve problems and identify trends within the business development process.
- Develop and expand the customer base by counseling community coordinators on building rapport and identifying new opportunities.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or healthcare-related field.
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience in health care business development management, preferably in hospice care operations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
- Proven ability to deal tactfully with customers and the community.
- Knowledge of corporate business management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and public relations skills.
- Autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Ability to pass a DHS background study.
- Prior master’s degree is preferred.
