Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Market Development to create and implement fundraising strategies tailored to each market's goals and capacity.
- Conduct development assessments and campaign planning strategies, incorporating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and market-specific insights.
- Use fundraising performance metrics and donor analytics to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- In partnership with the VP of Market Development, execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused on sustainable growth in unrestricted revenue.
- Provide short-term or project-based development leadership to local markets experiencing transitions or gaps in staffing.
- Support the design and execution of major fundraising campaigns, events, and development initiatives.
- Develop custom work plans and resources aligned to market-level fundraising priorities.
- Prepare compelling fundraising materials, including case statements, proposals, and campaign toolkits.
- Conduct prospect research and build individualized donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Engage and guide volunteer leaders, boards, and fundraising committees in campaign and development strategies.
- Participate and support market staff in key volunteer meetings to drive best practice outcomes.
- Coach and mentor local Market Leaders and Development Staff to build skills and confidence.
- Facilitate training sessions and peer learning opportunities to enhance fundraising effectiveness across the region.
- Foster cross-market collaboration and share best practices and tools to accelerate collective success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE preferred.
- Personal experience planning and executing large fundraising campaigns.
- 10+ years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit-development, peer to peer fundraising, as well as major gifts cultivation.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from planning through execution.
- Strong critical thinking and strategic planning capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences.
- Track record of working collaboratively with diverse teams, stakeholders, and donors.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region and temporarily cover remotely for short-term assignments, as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience providing consultative support to nonprofit organizations or local market teams.
- Knowledge of fundraising databases (e.g., ROI Solutions, Blackbaud, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and data analysis tools.
- Comfort navigating change and supporting teams through transition.
- Public speaking and facilitation experience with donors, boards, or volunteers.
- High emotional intelligence and professional presence.
- A passion for philanthropy and commitment to making a lasting impact through mission-driven work.
