About the role
The company is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Regional Collections Specialist to support business customers throughout the Eastern United States. This position combines high-volume business-to-business collections activity with credit analysis responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Make a minimum of 50 outbound collection calls per day to business customers.
- Manage customer accounts and work to reduce aging receivables and outstanding balances.
- Review and analyze customer creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits.
- Evaluate credit applications and assist with onboarding new customer accounts.
- Read and interpret credit reports, including Experian business credit reports.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and resolve delinquent account balances.
- Research and resolve customer disputes while identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Maintain account activity and document collection efforts thoroughly and accurately.
- Partner with Sales and internal stakeholders to resolve account issues and customer concerns.
- Review collection trends and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
- Support departmental initiatives, reporting, and cross-functional projects as needed.
- Deliver a high level of customer service while balancing collection objectives and risk management responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B collections, credit, or accounts receivable.
- Prior experience in a high-volume call environment preferred.
- Ability to interpret and analyze Experian or similar commercial credit reports.
- Strong understanding of credit limits, payment terms, and credit risk evaluation.
- Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
