About the role

PMI is looking for a Regional Communications Lead, North America to lead the development and execution of communications strategies and campaigns that support PMI’s regional business priorities and strengthen our presence across North America. This role will partner closely with the Managing Director and regional business leaders, working cross-functionally to translate business priorities into impactful communications programs. The Regional Communications Lead will develop campaign briefs, ensure regional initiatives align with PMI’s broader organizational strategy and business goals, and identify opportunities to increase awareness and strengthen PMI’s reputation across the region. The role will also own campaign measurement, reporting, and insights, using results to continuously improve communications effectiveness. In addition, this person will manage relationships with assigned external vendors and agencies, providing direction and reviewing deliverables to ensure high-quality, strategically aligned work.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in regional marketing strategy sessions and create programs to increase awareness of PMI’s positions, products, and services in a way that resonates and is relevant for the market.
  • Collaborate with functional partners to support execution of programs and campaigns to meet customer expectations and increase overall engagement.
  • Stay abreast of the local news cycle to continuously tie PMI to macrotrends and regional key industries and showcase the benefits to joining our community and pursuing our certifications.
  • Understand consumer trends and leverage insights specific to the region from detailed analyses to support development of regional communications plans, positioning, and strategies, with a particular focus on driving engagement and growth.
  • Help refine and leverage messaging for new product and service offerings and thought leadership, assuring alignment to larger organization positions and overall strategies.
  • Provide input into overall PMI communications strategy; provide input into identification of regional target audiences and appropriate baselines for present and future initiatives.
  • Track, measure, and report progress against regional communications campaign goals and objectives, with a particular focus on connection between effective regional messaging approaches and tactics and achievement of financial and customer acquisition targets.
  • Craft data-driven regional communications plans based on approved messaging, with the goal of ensuring personalized and relevant regional communications.
  • Lead the development and execution of regional communications campaigns and initiatives in alignment with PMI's overall enterprise strategy.
  • Maintain and manage agency relationships; regularly update Director on performance.
  • Provide monthly LinkedIn editorial calendar to Regional Managing Director (RMD), incorporating PMI messaging, GTMs, Thought Leadership releases, upcoming events, and other timely topics and happenings.
  • Support RMD with talking points for media interviews, speaking opportunities, and presentations.

Qualifications

  • BA in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, or related field.
  • 6–8 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or related degree.
  • Expertise in communications for the North America region, including how the media work and their needs.
  • In-depth understanding of and demonstrated success representing organizational messages and initiatives across a variety of communication channels.
  • Success in managing region-specific needs for messaging and how to best present global positions in a way that is engaging for a regional audience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest customer behavior and industry trends.
  • Experience working with and managing agencies independently.
  • Experience with media monitoring and PR measurement tools and reporting.
  • Analytical thinker with in-depth experience in qualitative and quantitative analytics.
  • Ability to oversee and execute multiple projects and cross-functional stakeholders with a proactive and adaptive mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and combine ideas to best benefit the customer.
  • Strong ability to think creatively.
  • Experience of working in an agile, dynamic, and customer-centric environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English; fluency in a minimum of one additional language relevant to the North America region is required.
  • Some travel, possibly up to 15%, conditions permitting. Requirements include ability to travel nationally and globally and may occur over weekends or holidays.
