About the role
The Regional Clinical Director will oversee clinical outcomes across Amae Health's California sites, providing direct supervision and support to clinical staff, and serving as the primary escalation point for complex clinical situations. This role involves collaborating with the psychiatry lead and multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of integrated care, and leading strategy and program improvements.
Responsibilities
- Own clinical quality across California sites, including PHP and IOP programs
- Monitor and drive performance against clinical KPIs, including outcomes, level-of-care transitions, treatment plan quality, documentation compliance, and member engagement
- Provide individual and group clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed clinicians in accordance with California BBS requirements and Amae standards
- Develop clinicians through regular feedback, coaching, and clear performance expectations
- Lead hiring efforts for clinical roles in the region in partnership with the GM and HR
- Partner with the GM to identify operational and clinical gaps across sites and develop targeted improvement plans
- Lead and contribute to clinical program initiatives, including measurement-based care implementation, integrated care model refinements, and new service development
- Translate KPI data into clear priorities for site teams; run regular clinical leadership check-ins and performance reviews
- Represent the clinical perspective in regional and organizational planning discussions
- Ensure sites meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including Joint Commission standards
- Oversee clinical documentation and supervision logs in compliance with California licensing requirements
- Serve as a resource to site teams navigating ADA, duty-to-warn, mandated reporting, and other clinical-legal obligations
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related clinical field
- Active, unrestricted California clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist)
- BBS-approved supervisor certification (or eligibility)
- 8+ years of post-licensure clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a clinical leadership or supervisory role
- Direct experience with PHP, IOP, or equivalent high-acuity behavioral health programs
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary clinical teams

Pay
$175,000 – $215,000 annually
Schedule
Regular travel between Amae Health's California clinics is required.
