The Regional Chief Medical Officer role is seeking an experienced physician leader based in the United States. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee clinical quality, physician performance, and operational alignment across assigned healthcare programs.
- Collaborate with clinical and business leaders to improve care delivery, support physician teams, and ensure compliance with established medical standards.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for physicians delivering specialty healthcare services.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, facility leadership, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Review and ensure physician compliance with clinical standards, operational policies, credentialing requirements, and documentation processes.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, including reviewing clinical outcomes and facilitating quality review conferences.
- Support resolution of physician coverage challenges and help maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Act as a liaison between physicians and facility leadership to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Contribute to physician recruitment activities, including reviewing candidate qualifications, conducting interviews, and supporting onboarding processes.
- Provide clinical recommendations and consulting support to healthcare facilities to improve programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with operational leaders on program reviews, assessments, and performance improvement strategies.
- Participate in business development activities by contributing clinical expertise during facility discussions and presentations.
- Identify opportunities for patient and facility success stories that support program growth and engagement.
Requirements include:
- A medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) with board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology through ABIM.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or clinical leadership role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in collaborative healthcare environments.
- At least 3 years of experience managing direct reports or supervising physician teams.
- Strong understanding of clinical standards, healthcare operations, and physician performance management.
- Experience with quality improvement, medical program development, and healthcare compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians, executives, facility teams, and operational leaders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced management degree such as MBA, MPH, or MHA is preferred.
- Experience with peer-reviewed publications is preferred.
