About the role

Factory Motor Parts is seeking a talented, customer-focused, and goal-oriented Regional Battery Sales Manager to lead and motivate Battery Route Sales representatives and other team members in an assigned territory. This role involves strong developmental leadership to drive results through sales acumen and expertise in battery and automotive sales.

Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, execute, train, and manage performance on processes and procedures for battery programs.
  • Proactively audit compliance with battery program processes and procedures.
  • Oversee financial reporting related to income streams (revenue from sales and consignment sales), inventory (on company trucks, warehouses, and customer consignment locations), manage returns that reduce revenue (e.g., credits for faulty or expired batteries), generate returns to vendors for defective batteries, and track credits due to the company.
  • Partner with the Merchandising Department on battery vendor matters, including customer service, accounting, and delivery.
  • Audit commission programs to ensure ROI, profitable sales growth, and achievement of financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align operational procedures with sales initiatives.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of company culture, selling organization, and products.
  • Ability to influence others, including those who do not directly report to you, to meet program objectives.
  • Strong financial skills and knowledge of the auto industry, battery vendors, and battery programs.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Company Mainframe, AC Delco, Ford/Motorcraft proprietary programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience creating workflows, processes, and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop training materials and transfer knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and teaching).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5–10 years of proven sales experience, with 2–5 years in a regional leadership role.
  • Established sales record with demonstrated ability to grow a region, expand opportunities, and close top accounts.
  • Proven talent in developing, leading, and training a goal-oriented sales team.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in automotive and/or battery marketing.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time to manage the region and customer base.
