We are seeking a Regional Assistant Director based in the Dallas, TX area to recruit and conduct application reviews for the greater Southwest region, focusing on first-year and transfer admission to the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. This role serves as a public-facing ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Johns Hopkins University, involving in-person and virtual recruitment, engagement with prospective students and families, and collaboration with university partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct recruitment and application review for an assigned region, including:
- Building relationships and hosting presentations in the market
- Visiting high schools and community organizations
- Developing knowledge of the secondary school landscape in the region
- Leveraging basic data analysis to manage recruitment decisions
- Partnering with senior leadership to expand recruitment in identified areas
- Collaborating with internal and external university partners for recruitment and yield activities
- Pursuing and cultivating partnerships with educators and organizations
- Developing regional events (e.g., counselor and student workshops, public presentations)
- Support programming and event staffing on and off campus as assigned.
- Manage relationships with faculty, counselors, prospective students and families, current students, university administrators, high school counselors, and alumni.
- Travel to Baltimore for training and event staffing as needed.
- Contribute to additional projects or program areas, such as:
- Hiring and training student volunteers
- Developing recruitment workshop materials and presentations
- Assisting with messaging and presentation delivery
- Building international recruitment plans
- Advancing initiatives related to access and diversity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One year of related experience (additional education may substitute for experience, and vice versa, per JHU equivalency formula).
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 8–12 weeks per year) and work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a college or university admissions officer, including recruitment and application review.
Pay
Starting salary range: $49,200 – $86,200 annually (targeted range: $65,000 – $72,000, commensurate with experience).
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (some evenings and weekends required).
