About the Role
The Surfscan group within KLA’s Global Products Group (GPG) is seeking a skilled Applications Development Engineer to support PWG and Wafersight products. This role involves developing test cases, characterizing new products and features, and demonstrating metrology relevance to customer yield issues. You will provide technical support for customer applications, conduct product demonstrations, and prepare detailed product specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, stay current in the customer use case domain, and have excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide applications development support for PWG and Wafersight products following standard procedures.
- Develop test cases and characterize new products and/or features.
- Demonstrate metrology relevance to customer yield issues.
- Provide technical support in the development and implementation of customer applications.
- Conduct product demonstrations for highly complex products and assess potential applications to meet customer needs.
- Prepare detailed product specifications.
- Characterize tool/algorithm performance and provide feedback to Engineering teams for product improvement, especially during Alpha/Beta tests.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose solutions for customer issues using data analysis, statistical analysis, and rapid understanding of customer requirements.
Requirements
- Master’s or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven yet a strong team player.
- Programming and scripting skills in MATLAB or Python are a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Pay
Base pay range: $97,800.00 - $166,300.00 annually.
Primary location: Milpitas, CA, USA.
